That was the best birthday gift ever!
Too bad I can't make dinner later. Let's just get a (clean) massage tomorrow.

We're headed out to the beach tomorrow. I'm so excited. I finished packing earlier today. I even completed my beach playlist with Swimming Beach and Inuman Na. I also got a good pair of shorts which fit my hips well but were too loose on my waist (danged body proportion). I got a swimsuit on sale (at 400 from 1000). Sure I needed to fix a couple of things (to keep my bossoms from falling out), but it's still worth the great discount (it's even cheaper than the suits I saw in the bazzar stalls today so no regrets).
Sun, sand, booze, and greens.....should be worth all the wait (and lack of sleep).
I wonder where everyone is....you're both not online and no new posts....hmmmm.....

My current boss just gave a date for my transfer. March 22nd is the lucky day. Sure transferring would mean reduced perks, like having my direct supervisor on site instead of offsite (which meant getting away with more things easily), having a fixed schedule instead of a flexible one, not being able to go on leave on a whim (which I'm doing today because I was not able to sleep all day because we went shopping for the beach trip). But since transferring would also mean having specific responsibilities instead of being tasked to do anything the higher ups want you to do, and being under the best boss ever, then transferring is the best thing to happen to me in a long time (plus the slight salary increase doesn't hurt either). I am also going on leave because it would be my last chance to go on leave and have a great GM sign my leave form (no questions asked) because a new GM is taking over the office come Monday.
So we have a beach trip this weekend and I still have things to buy and stuff to pack. Oh well, off to bed, for now.

Because it was a BS bookstore tour. Five malls and 3 bookstores later, I got four books and my book signing pass. I got the Batman graphic novel which I hastily read when I got home and which meant that I got to sleep at an hour equivalent to 4am. I wanted to get Mr. Punch, but the first branch didn't have it. So I tried another branch, which led to the crazy bookstore/mall tour and walking in the blistering noontime sun. Should have been satisfied with what the first bookstore had to offer, which was where I finally bought my books. After Batman, I also got The Graveyard Book, Interworld, and Anansi Boys; all for a little over P2,000 which entitles me to a book signing pass and to meet Neil (big yay!).
I actually gave a lot of thought into this decision, whether to have a spa day or get 4 books and meet Neil. I chose Neil and a cheap (but hopefully good) massage. A good compromise I think.
Oh and my current boss gave a possible date for my transfer: March 22. He tried to push it back to April first, but I insisted the 22nd was fine. I do hope I would be transferred before my birthday.
Off to see Alice later. And to (try to) read my books this weekend.
(hah, I'll probably just end up watching the DVDs)

And here I almost thought my computer is dead (again) after a sudden blackout yesterday. Got it going again thanks to system restore. I just hope it doesn't happen again today.
Here's the Chinatown trip. Apparently I did take a picture of the dumplings.
Fish, Chicken, Rice
Dumpling
Church visit to top it off.

(Found an old notebook. Using it to write while on my brand new hammock in my yet-to-be-thoroughly-cleaned-but-tolerable balcony.)
I stopped blogging because it seemed events in my life were not only too trivial but also utterly, annoyingly repetitive: I go to work. I feel stressed. I feel sleepy (which they say may be a sign of stress). I am bored. I break up with my fun buddy. We make up (and something else). I but stuff for myself. I pretend to be happy and am somehow content.
My life is boring. I don’t have one night stands or live in a foreign land. My life is trivial and repetitive and boring. Or maybe I’m just too contented with my nice hammock and happy songs and not giving a damn about things I can’t control. I’ve learned to distract myself from thinking. I’ve learned not to mull over problems. I’ve learned that bad things happen to good people all the time; it’s up to the good person to not dwell on defeat (and to make bad things happen to bad people occasionally). Hey, I’m writing reflections. I guess a hammock has powers to make one think.

Uncle: Bakit kaya tiger, hindi lion
Me: yung year of the tiger?
Uncle: oo. eh mas malaki naman yung lion.
Me: baka po kasi walang lion sa China...
cabbie: hindi. meron yun. diba yung tiger babaeng lion? dapat nga year of the lion kasi lalaki yun. yung tiger babae. diba
And here I thought I watched all the episodes of Big Cat Diary...must have missed that one episode where the tiger is introduced as the female lion...hmm...
